Good afternoon, families,
Mental Health Week:
This week was Mental Health Week. It was a wonderful week for our students and staff to be mindful of the importance of our mental health every single day! Learning and literacy are great ways to keep our mental health in check! We know that so many of our students and staff enjoy curling up with a good book, reading a fun comic, listening to an audio story, or maybe taking in a podcast. There is lots of great information out there, and whether we are engaging in literacy for joy, to learn, or to laugh.
We were lucky to have two great authors come to visit our classrooms this week. Matt Eicheldinger came to share and celebrate all the wonderful poetry battles we have had on our announcements this week. The students had a fun time connecting with this author (and teacher) during a virtual assembly. We were also fortunate to have an author, and the mom of one of our kinder students, Melissa Allan, visit us for an in-person assembly on Thursday. Her book, "Brave Like The Buffalo”, shares important Indigenous learning with our students and how to face adversity. We have both authors’ books in our Library, or you can purchase them on Amazon here:

School Council Shout Out!
I want to extend a HUGE thank you to our amazing SCHOOL COUNCIL and FUNDRAISING SOCIETY. They often do a lot of work behind the scenes to help make our school and community a better place to be. They organize hot lunch, fundraisers, plan special events like our dance, and spread the good word about everything that happens within our school. We appreciate them so much. During our last school council meeting, the group voted to support a few really big initiatives in our school for next year. They approved funds to support the purchase of Kanga Pouches for our Grade 1s next year, as well as agendas for our school. They also provided funds to support Mathletics and Reading Eggs Subscriptions. We had some great dialogue about ensuring we push out how our parents can access these programs at home - they can be a helpful tool at home as well!
Our next meeting is actually going to be our AGM - please mark your calendars for June 10th at 6:00. This is a great way to get involved in our school community. Please consider coming and taking on a position. A special thank you to everyone who stepped into a role this year, but a special thank you to Jessica, who is stepping away from Fundraising Chair as her last child is leaving Robina. Serena is also stepping away from the School Council Chair into a “past chair” role in order to support and mentor someone else looking to step into this role as her little one will be in Grade 4 next year. These ladies, along with all of our council, put in countless hours and thought into helping contribute to a warm, safe, and happy community. Thank you!
As we wrap up an important week, please stay connected and be kind to those around you! We appreciate our Robina family and community more than you know!
Warmly,
Mr. Coffin & Mrs. Kirton

Family Wellness Night & Spring Concert
Join us on Wednesday, May 27, for a night that’s part open-house, part concert, and 100% fun! We’re opening up the school to show you exactly why your kids have been raving about our Wellness Days all year. It’s a great chance to hang out with other families, meet your neighbors, and celebrate the awesome work our students have been doing in music and wellness.
We’ll also be hosting 10–15 minute mini-concerts for each grade level throughout the evening.
You Pour Your Heart Into Our School—Let Us Pour You a Coffee!
Our school is powered by the kindness and dedication of our volunteers. On Wednesday, June 10, we want to celebrate you! Please stop by our coffee station between 7:45 AM and 8:45 AM for a complimentary breakfast treat and a warm drink.
Whether you’re rushing to work or heading home after drop-off, we hope this little "Pick-Me-Up" reminds you just how much we appreciate your "tea-riffic" support! It’s just a small way for us to say thank you for being the "premium blend" that makes our school community so special.
We want to say thank you to all of our volunteers who so generously gave their time and energy this year! If you have come to the school to help out, gone on a field trip, supplied food or treats to the classes, photocopied, laminated, worked hot lunch, put away library books, read to kids, tied skates, or gone on a walk (you get the idea), we hope you can stop by for a little “Pick-Me-Up”:
- When: Wednesday, June 10 | 7:45 AM – 8:45 AM
- Where: The Front of Robina Baker
- What: Fresh coffee, tea, and muffins to-go!
