Welcome Back
We had a wonderful first couple of days at school! It was a great opportunity for our students to slide out of the summer months and get a sampling of what the routine will be like at the school. The Principal Corner is sent out every Friday afternoon for you to keep updated about what is happening at the school. With only a couple of days this week, it will be a short update!
THANK YOU!
- Thank you to all of our students for showing up ready and eager to learn this week. All of our student were able to remember a lot about the “Group Plan,” and our new students will learn about it. The language we use universally in the building comes from the We Thinkers. We do have a parent resource available in our library that our School Council purchased as part of the Alberta School Council Engagement grant in previous years. More to come on this in the coming Principal’s Reports!
- Thank you to our staff - they have been working so hard this week, first preparing for student arrival, but also welcoming our students back and helping them get into the routine of being at school again.
- Thank you to our parents and caregivers - we are so appreciative of your partnership. Communication is key - please stay connected with your child’s classroom teacher for whatever you need!
- Thank you to our RBES Parent Council and parent volunteers! We are so grateful for your warm welcome at the BBQ, as well as all your hard work setting up our first fundraiser and getting hot lunch ready to go for our school community.

Before School Routine and Bell Times
The first bell of the day is at 8:25 AM. Having your child arrive as close to this time as possible is best. Please DO NOT send your children to school prior to 8:20 AM, as there is no supervision outside until that time.
- Warning Bell: 8:25 AM
- Instruction Begins: 8:35 AM
- Lunch Hour Time: 12:00 - 12:50 PM
- Dismissal Time: 3:00 PM
Before School, students in Grades 1-4 will be permitted to play on the new park, old park, or in the fields. Once the bell rings, students will need to go to their entrances.
If you need childcare prior to 8:20, please get in touch withHappy Kids Childcareto see if they have availability for before-school care.

Old Dutch Chips Order
The RBES Parent Council is selling Old Dutch Chips.
Support our school while stocking the pantry with your favorite snacks! These are also the perfect size for Halloween treats - and the timing can't be beat!
Order deadline is Thursday, September 24th. Delivery is TBD.
How to order:
- Fill out the order form.
- e-Transfer your total to rbesfundraising@gmail.com.
- You will be contacted once the pickup date and times are confirmed.

Important Note on Hot Lunch Dates
Thank you for your hot lunch orders! Before finalizing your selections, please double-check your order dates against your child's class calendar to ensure they will be in school and not away on a field trip.
If your child is absent or away on a hot lunch day, you are welcome to pick up their meal after 12:30 PM (please notify the school before 10:00 AM). Otherwise, the lunch will be donated, as refunds cannot be provided.

If you have not yet picked up your school supplies, you can find information on our website by clicking below. There are two ways to get your school supplies: online through School Start or using the lists to shop for yourself.

If you purchase Mabel’s Labels to label your school supplies, your child’s supplies will be labeled all year and Robina Baker will get paid!
