May 14, 2026 Principal Message

Good afternoon, families,
We had some absolutely fantastic “principal helpers” in the office again today! Jaden & Easton earned this special prize through our recent spellathon, winning the chance to help me with various principal activities all afternoon. They brought incredible enthusiasm and leadership to the role. A true highlight of the day was seeing them step up to support our youngest Kindergarten students—they showed wonderful patience and kindness, and I couldn't be prouder of them!
As a reminder, it has been a short week for our students, and tomorrow is a dedicated day of professional learning for our staff. While the students enjoy a well-deserved long weekend, our educators will be engaging in collaborative planning and professional development to continue making our school the best learning environment possible.
Looking ahead, we are already starting to prepare for the upcoming school year. In the coming weeks, we will begin sharing our staffing updates and grade-level cohorts with the community.
Currently, our teachers have initiated the highly detailed process of building class lists for next year. I want to emphasize just how much thought goes into this. Teachers are incredibly meticulous when creating these cohorts. They carefully curate the lists with the support of multidisciplinary teams, taking into account a wide variety of factors such as learning styles, academic needs, peer dynamics, and social-emotional development.
Because building these classes is like putting together a complex puzzle, I implicitly trust our staff's professional judgment in ensuring every student is placed in an environment where they will thrive. As such, we respectfully request that parents do not reach out to teachers regarding preferred placements or specific teacher requests for your child. Accommodating individual preferences often disrupts the carefully balanced dynamics our teams work so hard to create.
Should there be a truly extenuating circumstance regarding your child's placement that we need to be aware of, please reach out to me directly to discuss it.
Thank you for your ongoing support, trust, and partnership. Have a wonderful, restful long weekend!
Warmly,
Mr. Coffin & Mrs. Kirton

Family Wellness Night & Spring Concert
Join us on Wednesday, May 27, for a night that’s part open-house, part concert, and 100% fun! We’re opening up the school to show you exactly why your kids have been raving about our Wellness Days all year. It’s a great chance to hang out with other families, meet your neighbors, and celebrate the awesome work our students have been doing in music and wellness.
We’ll also be hosting 10–15 minute mini-concerts for each grade level throughout the evening.
Chill Out with Kona Ice!
What’s better than great music and wellness? Adding some flavor! Kona Ice will be on-site serving up their famous gourmet shaved ice. Whether you want a classic flavor or a sugar-free treat, it's the perfect way to "chill" with your neighbors.
Your purchase helps us grow, as a percentage of sales goes directly back to the school.
And keep an eye on the calendar—on June 24, we’re throwing a Kona party for all students on the last day of school to celebrate a job well done!
You Pour Your Heart Into Our School—Let Us Pour You a Coffee!
Our school is powered by the kindness and dedication of our volunteers. On Wednesday, June 10, we want to celebrate you! Please stop by our coffee station between 7:45 AM and 8:45 AM for a complimentary breakfast treat and a warm drink.
Whether you’re rushing to work or heading home after drop-off, we hope this little "Pick-Me-Up" reminds you just how much we appreciate your "tea-riffic" support! It’s just a small way for us to say thank you for being the "premium blend" that makes our school community so special.
We want to say thank you to all of our volunteers who so generously gave their time and energy this year! If you have come to the school to help out, gone on a field trip, supplied food or treats to the classes, photocopied, laminated, worked hot lunch, put away library books, read to kids, tied skates, or gone on a walk (you get the idea), we hope you can stop by for a little “Pick-Me-Up”:
- When: Wednesday, June 10 | 7:45 AM – 8:45 AM
- Where: The Front of Robina Baker
- What: Fresh coffee, tea, and muffins to-go!
