Admin Corner
Good afternoon, Robina Families,
You may have heard that we conducted our first Emergency Evacuation Drill this week. All schools within Black Gold School Division utilize Hour Zero Protocols and Procedures that help guide us through an Emergency Response. Please take a moment to review the information below, which is also posted on our website, including a PDF of all of the protocols.
Over the next several weeks, we will be practicing more of our procedures. This all helps us keep our students safe and allows us to know the group plan in the event of an emergency.
Looking ahead, we will be planning a “Controlled Student Release” practice. A Student Release is used in the event we need parents to come to the school during an emergency to pick their child up, which can occur during the day or after hours. There are very specific protocols that must be followed during this time. We are seeking parents who would be interested in helping us practice this drill. Your time commitment would be about 30 minutes one afternoon. If you can help, please fill out this form, and we will contact you with more information.
Should there ever be a real emergency situation, please know that you will receive communication from Black Gold, and it is essential that you follow the specific instructions outlined in the communication.
If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at the school.
Have a wonderful weekend ahead—enjoy this beautiful weather!
Mr. Coffin & Mrs. Kirton

Terry Fox Walk
Join us as we help Terry “Finish It” on Friday, September 26 at 1:00 p.m.
- Kindergarten students will participate with activities on the school grounds.
- Grades 1–4 will walk the same community route as last year. (The map is on our website here.)
We are grateful to the Lion’s Club for providing a healthy snack for all students once they complete the walk.
Parents and guardians are welcome to join! If you would like to walk with a Grade 1–4 class, please complete the Volunteer Registration Form on PowerSchool and let your child’s teacher know you’re interested.
If you’d like to support cancer research, donations can be made directly to the RBES Terry Fox Fundraising Page or students may bring a “Toonie for Terry” on September 26.
Please complete your verification form on PowerSchool so your child can participate.
The Verification Forms are not found where we normally find permission forms. Once you log on to PowerSchool, you will see on the left-hand side, way down on the botto,m “Student Enrollment Verification”.
Once you click on that, you will have to enter your child’s birthdate and then answer a lot of questions. When you get to the last page, the Summary Page, if you have all green checkmarks, you are good to click submit. If you have missed anything, you will see a red checkmark. Then you can click on that section, and the area that you have missed will be in red.
Instructions are available on our website here.
Verification Forms
Student Enrollment Verification Forms for 2025–2026 are now available on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please complete your form by Friday, September 26.
The form includes important permissions (like walking field trips, including the Terry Fox Walk) and ensures we have up-to-date emergency contact information. Completing it helps us keep your child safe and able to participate fully in school activities.
NEW - Club Moo!
Our Milk Program is Back! 🥛
We are excited to announce that our Club Moo Milk Program is back this year! Our Moo Crew—made up of our Grade 4 Leadership students—will be helping by fulfilling and delivering milk orders (starting in October) to each class (Kindergarten to Grade 4) at lunchtime each day.
Parents can purchase milk tickets through PowerSchool: 20 tickets (white or chocolate) for $20.
How to use your tickets:
- Send them all at once – Cut the tickets apart and return them in a baggie or envelope. They will be kept in your child’s reading bag, and your child can decide when to use them.
- Send them as needed – Place one ticket in your child’s reading bag on the days you’d like them to have milk.
Milk delivery will start in October, but tickets are available to purchase now on PowerSchool.
