Good afternoon, Robina Families,

The sun is shining and it is finally May! We are excited to be in the home stretch of the school year what with all the fun things that our teachers have planned. There is lots to look forward to, whether it be field trips, swimming, group projects, transition activities, and beyond!

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our School Council and Fundraising Society. Last Friday, they put on another great Family Dance! We are lucky to have such a dedicated group! One of their goals this year was to do exactly what they did - bring families together! Our Fundraising Society is running one last fundraiser for the year - be sure to check it out. All the fundraising this group does goes to such a great cause! This year alone, they have supported the purchase of extra Chromebooks in our schools, interactive View Sonic projectors for our classrooms, as well as various learning subscriptions that our staff and students access on a daily basis. Every order you place makes a difference! Finally, please know that our School Council is always welcome new members. Mark your calendars for June 9th. On this date is the AGM and is a great opportunity to join in on all the fun!

Thank you as well to the Grade 4 parents, teachers, and students who put on our annual cake walk at the dance!

On Thursday this week, the school provided every student in the building a “Smile Cookie”. The money raised went to the Devon Hospital Foundation. Thanks to everyone who was able to make a contribution to this.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!

Library Corner

LibraryNew Books - We are still enjoying new books on a regular basis thanks to the Scholastic Book Fair. Students are allowed the following number of books:

Grades PreK, K, 1 - 1 book

Grades 2, 3 - 2 books

Grade 4 - 3 books

Please return the books a week later when it is your student’s library day. Books can be renewed!  Just have your child ask me to do that.

Overdue notices - Some of you are getting reminders when a book is more than a week overdue and more than 3 weeks overdue. After a month, the book will be marked as lost. (see below)

Lost Books - I have marked some of the students’ books as lost and the amount will be added to your PowerSchool account.  Please be assured that if the book is found, the amount will be deleted.  These are books that have been out for more than a month. For all of these, I have done a thorough search of the library for the book. Please encourage your child to check their classroom shelves as well.

Please email me, not your teacher, if you have any questions or concerns about library items.  [email protected]

Amazon Wishlist. We have a wishlist for the library!  If you would like to buy one of these books for the library, please don’t forget to have Amazon send us a gift note with your name on it.  I like to acknowledge the person who purchased the book.  Thanks!
