Admin Corner
Good Afternoon Robina Families,
We hope you had a wonderful extended weekend! Since last week was a short one with the Teachers’ Convention, it’s been a little while since our last update. The convention provided a fantastic opportunity for our teaching staff to engage in professional learning focused on best practices for your children.
Today, we celebrated Valentine’s Day—a great reminder to spread kindness and appreciation for the people around us!
Celebrating Our School Community
- Students: Our students engage in deep and meaningful learning every day, and we see their kindness shining through! Our leadership group organized Candy-Grams to help spread positivity throughout the school.
- Parents: We truly appreciate our parents as partners in their children’s educational journeys. The open dialogue we share is invaluable, and we are grateful for your ongoing support.
- Teachers: Our teachers create dynamic learning opportunities and lasting "core memories" for students. This week, they led our second Wellness Afternoon, where students participated in activities focused on self-care and well-being.
- Custodians: Mr. Alex and Ms. Elsa work tirelessly to ensure our school is a clean, safe, and welcoming place for everyone.
Recognizing Our Support Staff
Finally, and most importantly, we want to acknowledge the incredible contributions of our support staff—including our secretaries, educational assistants, and our wonderful librarian, Ms. Joosee. These dedicated individuals play a vital role in supporting students academically, emotionally, and socially every single day. Their hard work and dedication are deeply valued by all of us at RBES.
With that in mind, we encourage families to stay informed about updates from Black Gold School Division regarding potential job action. While no strike notice has been issued at this time, we want to emphasize that BGSD and RBES recognize the essential role of our support staff and deeply appreciate their contributions to our school community. If there are any changes, BGSD will communicate with families directly.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Warm regards,
Mr. Coffin

School Council & Fundraising
Library Corner
New Books - We are still enjoying new books on a regular basis thanks to the Scholastic Book Fair. Students are allowed the following number of books:
Grades PreK, K, 1 - 1 book
Grades 2, 3 - 2 books
Grade 4 - 3 books
Please return the books a week later when it is your student’s library day. Books can be renewed! Just have your child ask me to do that.
Overdue notices - Some of you are getting reminders when a book is more than a week overdue and more than 3 weeks overdue. After a month, the book will be marked as lost. (see below)
Lost Books - I have marked some of the students’ books as lost and the amount will be added to your PowerSchool account. Please be assured that if the book is found, the amount will be deleted. These are books that have been out for more than a month. For all of these, I have done a thorough search of the library for the book. Please encourage your child to check their classroom shelves as well.
Please email me, not your teacher, if you have any questions or concerns about library items. [email protected]
Amazon Wishlist. We have a wishlist for the library! If you would like to buy one of these books for the library, please don’t forget to have Amazon send us a gift note with your name on it. I like to acknowledge the person who purchased the book. Thanks!
