Skating Week

Our K-4 students will be heading to the GFL Twin Arena for skating sessions on November 19–21 and February 11–13. Each class will enjoy a half-hour on the ice participating in fun, learn-to-skate activities suited to their skill level.

There is no cost for this field trip, and the schedule for both weeks is here (please check closer to the date for any updates).

All students must have a CSA-approved helmet — hockey, skiing, or horseback riding helmets are acceptable. Bike helmets are not permitted. A cage is recommended but not required for skating; however, students using hockey sticks (Gr. 3–4 only, as advised by teachers) must wear full cages.

Students should dress warmly with jackets, mittens or gloves, and ski pants are encouraged for comfort and safety. The school has a limited number of skates and helmets available to borrow if needed.

We welcome parent volunteers to help supervise on and off the ice. If you’re able to help, please let your child’s teacher know or indicate your interest on the permission form.
