Good afternoon, Robina Families,

This week was full of fun adventures and learning at every grade level both inside and outside of the building!

  • EIPK played and learned with the theme of the zoo in their classroom ahead of their trip to the zoo next week!
  • Kindergartens took an exciting bus ride to Edmonton and visited the Royal Alberta Museum! It was a fun opportunity to explore Alberta’s history!
  • Grade 1 headed to the zoo in Edmonton! They saw some wonderful animals and learned a lot about different areas of the world!
  • The Grade 2s travelled across the river to the University of Alberta Botanical Gardens. A great opportunity for outdoor learning all day!
  • Grade 3s have had an exciting and joyful week as their duck eggs began to hatch!
  • Grade 4s took two trips this week! They celebrated their “graduation” from uSchool by attending a special convocation ceremony on Tuesday. As we speak, they are at Camp Warwa for the annual trip! Special memories and reflections as they finish their time at Robina.

Planning, attending, and engaging in field trips are joyful events, but don’t go without a copious amount of planning and effort. Thank you to the volunteers who took the time to support students and staff during these trips. Also, please be sure to reach out to your child’s teacher and thank them for the planning and time! These are those days when staff are on all day and aren’t taking any breaks. Thank you, teachers!

The final 8 days of school are ahead of us. Please take note of some important upcoming dates:

  • Swimming is next week! Thank you to parents for completing the permission forms and for paying. Please remember to send your child with all their gear. If you’d like to come and watch the times are scheduled here.
  • DanceEd is with us next week. This is an exciting residency program that teaches students the benefits and joy of movement. Each class will be working on a special dance that will culminate with a performance on Thursday (for Kinder) and Friday for the rest of the school.
  • On June 22, Mrs. Kaluza and Mrs. Kirton have planned to incorporate Indigenous Learning as part of our annual fun day afternoon to help recognize Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. Be sure to check out the Town of Devon events leading up to June 21.
  • June 23, students participate in Free Swim as part of our swimming program. We always need lots of volunteers in the pool on this day, so please reach out to your child’s teacher if you can support.
  • On June 24, the Kona Ice Truck will be here to provide shaved ice to all of our students! The school is covering the cost of this for our students! In the afternoon, we will celebrate our Grade 4’s who are finishing their time at Robina. Teachers will be sharing the timing of this event with you soon!

Warmly,

Mr. Coffin & Mrs. Kirton

Message From The Outgoing School Council Chair

On Wednesday, our School Council elected a new executive team, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.

This group of dedicated, passionate volunteers brings so much energy, creativity, and commitment to our school community. I have no doubt they will continue to build on the incredible foundation that’s been created and lead our council to even greater success.

As my four years as Chair come to an end, I want to sincerely thank our school community for the opportunity to serve in this role. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside amazing parents, staff, and volunteers who care deeply about making our school the best it can be for our children.

The friendships, memories, and accomplishments we’ve shared are something I’ll always treasure.

Congratulations to our newly elected executive team. Our school is fortunate to have such a wonderful group stepping into these leadership roles, and I can’t wait to see all that you accomplish together.

Thank you for an unforgettable four years.
