Dear Robina Families,

Thank you to everyone for their patience as we slide back into the school routine. It’s been wonderful to see all the smiling faces again!

We’ve had to make a few adjustments to some dates, activities, and deadlines that we wanted to share:

Parent Teacher Interviews: Parent-teacher interviews have been scheduled for the week of December 8 - 12, with December 10th being a date on which teachers will stay later into the evening. Mrs. Joosse was able to reschedule the book fair for this time - so a great chance to pick up some holiday gifts all while supporting our Library! The gym will be open for cookie decorating by our Mental Health Capacity Building Team! A sign-up schedule will be sent out to families following the break.

ISP/IPPs: We have provided a deadline extension to our teachers to complete ISPs and IPPs. You can expect to be contacted by your child’s teacher to arrange an ISP meeting sometime in early December. If you are having an ISP meeting, there is no need to book an additional Parent-Teacher Interview.

Winter Concert: We’re excited to share that our Winter Concert will look a little different this year! In the past, our gym has been packed full of excited families, and we want to make sure everyone has a great experience. We’ll send out the concert schedule after Fall Break—thanks for your patience and support as we make a few changes!

School Council: Our School Council will meet on November 18th at 6:00. Be sure to come to get an update from the school and our local trustee.

We will begin the School Milk program on November 18th. If you have purchased milk tickets, please see your child’s Kanga pouch or agenda for instructions on how to participate.

We will be skating at the arena on November 19 - 21. Please complete your child’s permission form and let your child’s teacher know if you can support the class during skating.

Skating

Skating Week

Students will be heading to the GFL Twin Arena for skating fun on November 19–21 and February 11–13. Each class will have a half-hour on the ice for games and learn-to-skate activities — there’s no cost for this trip!

All students need a CSA-approved helmet (hockey, skiing, or riding helmets are fine — no bike helmets please). Dress warmly with jackets, mittens, and ski pants.

A few skates and helmets are available to borrow from the school if needed.

We’d love some parent volunteers on and off the ice — please let your child’s teacher know if you can help!

Club Moo

Club Moo Program

A big thank you to all the parents who have ordered milk tickets for our Club Moo program! 🥛

  • Orders placed before November 3 should have gone home with students this week.
  • Orders placed after November 3 will be sent home after Fall Break.

The milk program will officially start on Tuesday, November 18.

Leadership students will be helping by fulfilling and delivering milk orders to each class (Kindergarten to Grade 4) at lunchtime every day.

Parents can purchase milk tickets through PowerSchool: 20 tickets (white or chocolate) for $20.

How to use your tickets:

  • Send them all at once – Cut the tickets apart and return them in a baggie or envelope. They will be kept in your child’s reading bag, and your child can decide when to use them.
  • Send them as needed – Place one ticket in your child’s reading bag on the days you’d like them to have milk.
