What a wonderful month we had here at the school and we ended it off with our Pink Shirt Day and Wellness Wednesday events. Thank you to Mrs. Gerard who organized a school-wide dance number for us that we hope to share with you very soon you can watch it on FaceBook. Students also participated in Wellness Stations in the afternoon.

Over the past several months, I’ve had the good fortune to meet and engage with many of you on the sidewalk, in the community, at school council meetings, during school events, or over the phone/email. I have appreciated so much the active engagement and partnership that our parents have in this building. Please know that each conversation or correspondence I have with all of you is very important to me as I strive very hard to ensure I am leading a building that is supportive of students, parents, and staff. At the beginning of the year; you might recall me noting a few pillars that are important to me as a leader and have likely noticed a theme to my weekly messages

    • Taking Care of You
    • Let Learning Guide You
    • Communication is Key
    • Trust

These pillars guide my philosophy as a principal and I keep them in the forefront of my mind each day I have the great privilege to be in this building.

With communication being so key; I have always welcomed and appreciated the feedback I receive. It not only helps me know that I am heading in the right direction but also provides me with opportunities for reflection and growth. As such, part of my role as principal and being new to a role is to gather this feedback for my growth!

If you would be so kind as to take a moment to fill out this survey; I would be most grateful. I also hope to call each person personally to thank and discuss with you!

    Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
    Mr. Coffin

    Student-Led Conferences

All parents are invited to come to the school on Wednesday, March 13 for Student-Led Conferences. Please plan to bring your child with you and aim to spend approximately 15 minutes with them in their classroom doing activities.

Parents and their child(ren) can come by when it is convenient for them between 3:30 – 6:45 pm. We encourage a 15-minute time frame in each classroom to ensure everyone can visit and do a couple of activities with their child.

This is not a parent-teacher interview. If you would like to speak one-on-one with the teacher about your child’s progress, please contact them to set this up at a separate time.

    Thank You Devon Historical Society

Ken Hawkins, from the Devon Historical Society, came by to bring Devon colouring books to the Grade 1 students!

    April Hot Lunch

You can now log in here and place hot lunch orders for the April 1-30, 2024 menu period.

The menu will remain open until 11:59 pm on March 22, 2024.

All payments will be due through our online payment option by noon, March 23, 2024.

If you wish to pay by EMT, go ahead and select all of your menu items for the month, but skip entering your credit card information at the end. Instead, send an EMT to [email protected] along with your child/children’s names in the memo or message line so that I can enter that payment on the website afterward.

    Library Corner

    • If you have any questions regarding your child’s account, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Please don’t be concerned if you get an overdue email, especially when your child missed their library period due to a PD day or being sick. It is just a reminder.
    • Grade 1 students now may take out 2 books. The only classes taking out 1 book are the Kindergartens.
    • Leduc Recreation Pass – Don’t forget about the Leduc Recreation Pass which can be checked out for a week.
    • Amazon Wishlist – I have created an Amazon Wishlist for the library. You can check it out here:  Amazon Wishlist.  If you would like to buy one of these books for the library, please don’t forget to have Amazon send us a gift note with your name on it.  I like to acknowledge the person who purchased the book.  Thanks!

    Mrs. Joossee

Please help us plan for next year by letting us know if your child will not be returning to Robina Baker next year.  If your Grade 4 student will be going to Riverview Middle School, you do not have to let us know.
