If you know me, I don’t like the spotlight, so this is me taking some time to say THANK YOU.

I’m beyond humbled by the outpouring of support on a recent post about receiving an award sponsored by the Alberta Teacher’s Association. I was beyond humbled even to be nominated, but winning the award is overwhelming. I mentioned in the post that I truly couldn’t have been where I am today without the wonderful team here at Robina Baker. Our staff is second to none. Everyone shows up every day and gives their best to create a learning environment where students can thrive. I’m thankful to be a part of this team! I want to also thank Mrs. Kirton for writing up the nomination package along with our Associate Superintendent, Mr. Monty. She so eloquently captured everything that we have strived to do here at the school.

I have worked in many schools within Blackgold alongside many excellent administrators, teachers, and support staff all of whom have helped shape me into who I am today. I also certainly wouldn’t be here without them and owe a great deal of gratitude to them!

Last Friday we had our Family Dance. A huge shout out to our wonderful School Council team who kept it simple but so powerfully brought our families together. Also a big shout out to our Grade 4 teachers and parents who hosted the Cake Walk! All in all, it was a wonderful family event.

Finally, by the end of this month, we will have a new park on our property! Please consider taking some time to help them out. Sign up here!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Moving Up & On Photos

The Kindergarten and Grade 4 students have individual Celebration Photos as Kinders are moving up and the Grade 4s are moving on and we like to take their photos as a part of their celebration.  The Grade 4s can bring in an item that represents something important to them this year (For example ballet slippers if they were in dance, or a game console).  Kindergarten students will have a Graduation cap and scroll provided for their photos.

    •   Amazon Wishlist If you would like to buy one of these books for the library, please don’t forget to have Amazon send us a gift note with your name on it.  I like to acknowledge the person who purchased the book.  Thanks!
    • Thanks to those of you who have donated books from the Amazon Wishlist!!  That is fantastic and very much appreciated!

Please help us plan for next year by letting us know if your child will not be returning to Robina Baker next year.  If your Grade 4 student will be going to Riverview Middle School, you do not have to let us know.
