    STAFFING NEWS FROM MRS. K

We would like to officially welcome Ms. Risto, our new librarian. All of the students have had library classes with her and she is quickly adjusting to becoming a great member of our team.

Springtime is often when changes start to happen in preparation for the upcoming school year. It is with mixed emotions that I announce I will be moving to another school community. I have been at Robina Baker for almost a decade and I have truly enjoyed my time here. I have worked with many students and their families who will always hold a special place in my heart. Our staff is one of the best I have ever had the privilege of working with and I will miss each and every one of them. I have been given an opportunity to work alongside a treasured colleague at Dansereau Meadows School and it was not something I could pass up. I am looking forward to stretching myself professionally and embracing this change and some new challenges. I will truly miss so many of you and I am grateful to have had the chance to belong to our amazing community for as long as I have.

As I prepare to move on, I am excited and thrilled to announce that I have the privilege of passing on the torch to Mr. Coffin. Many of you will remember that Mr. Coffin was our Assistant Principal a few years ago. It is truly the best news that he will be returning to Robina Baker as the principal in the fall. It makes my heart so happy to know that I am leaving you all in the care of someone who already knows and loves our community. Welcome back, Mr. Coffin! It is so wonderful to have you back at RBES!!

    ASSEMBLY

This week we continued working on the theme of patience. A number of our students have been practicing good patience by taking extra deep breaths when they want something to happen sooner. It was agreed that some things are really hard to wait for.

    KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2023-2024 school year.

Children may begin Kindergarten in a school within the Black Gold School Division in September if they are at least 4 years 8 months old as of August 31 of the respective school year.

We encourage families to register early as this helps us with our planning. Please note that programs and class preferences are subject to change based on enrollment, space and program viability.

    HAPPY EARTH DAY

April 22 is Earth Day and there were many lessons to be seen around the school. Many of our students pitched in during the day to help clean up our playground.

    PARENTS AS PARTNERS IN EDUCATION

We encourage parents to have regular communication with their classroom teachers. It is important for the school to hear about any concerns that need to be addressed in a timely manner. The following infographic is a summary of Black Gold’s process.

Additional information is available at this link on the Black Gold website. Please reach out if you have any questions.
