READING BUDDIES
Some Grade 9 RMS students came to read with a number of our grade one students this past week. It was an enjoyable experience for everyone!

RBES SPIRIT WEAR coming soon!
We are hoping to get a spirit wear order organized soon. Our previous vendor is no longer available and we will be working with someone new to provide Raptor wear for our students and staff to order. MORE INFORMATION COMING SOON!
In the meantime, there is an option for a fun RBES rainbow heart shirt. It is available in a number of great colors. The more shirts that are ordered, the lower the price.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
We practiced a couple of Evacuation drills this past week. Our students were very efficient at getting out of the building quickly and safely. All Black Gold Schools use a common Emergency Protocol called Hour Zero. This allows us all to have consistent common language and understanding. You will note there are a number of drills for our students and staff to practice. In the upcoming weeks we will be having the following drills: hold and secure; drop-cover-hold; shelter in place; and a lock down.
PLEASE NOTE: When we are in the middle of a practice for an Emergency Drill, there will be a sign on the door indicating there is a drill in place. If you arrive at the school and see a drill in place, please wait until our practice is complete. If you happen to be in the school during a drill, all persons in the building are expected to participate in the practice. Please reach out to your classroom teacher or the office team if you have any questions.
PRE-K & KINDER OPEN HOUSE
We will be having an open house on Wednesday, May 10 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. All families with Pre-K or Kindergarten aged children are welcome to attend. More details will be coming soon.
If you have not registered your child for Kindergarten, please do so as soon as possible to help us with our fall planning.
Children may begin Kindergarten in a school within the Black Gold School Division in September if they are at least 4 years 8 months old as of August 31 of the respective school year.
