ASSEMBLY THIS WEEK
We started a new theme this week in our Friday assembly. We are looking at the theme of giving and what that can look like without a focus on money.
We had an exciting first draw for our Rad Raptors. Four names were drawn for Pizza with the Principal. It was very anti-climatic as 3 out of the 4 winners were away. I have met with all of the winners except one who has been away. I anticipate this special lunch will happen early next week. You will receive a message from myself or the classroom teacher, if your child was selected.
As always, you can click on the link below for a look at our agenda:
RAD RAPTOR
Our Rad Raptor program is a work in progress. Currently: selected students are nominated by staff and they are individually celebrated in the moment. At the Friday assembly, they are highlighted and their name goes into the monthly draw for Pizza with the Principal lunch.
In the near future: I will be adding some sort of certificate for the students to take home. Any previous Rad Raptors of this year, will also receive a certificate. Once I have moved to that step in our celebration, I will feature photos each week of our Rad Raptors.
Grade 3 & 4 SADD Project
Our students continue to add to this project and the messaging has been so inspirational! I would like to give an extra special shout out to the grade 4s that really put in some wonderful extra effort. The bags that have met the criteria of the SADD liquor bag campaign contest have been entered. The entries are done through instagram and the SADD hashtag. Our students had no idea about the contest as we did the program to raise awareness. If some of our students win, it would be an added bonus. Look for RBES artwork in local liquor stores later this week!

CHRISTMAS CONCERT
We are so excited to be able to present “A Holly Jolly Christmas Concert” this year. Here is some information to ensure you hold the date and time in your calendars. Additional information will be shared next week!
Tuesday, December 20 – Grades 1-4
Dress Rehearsal – 1:00 pm
This will be a run-through of the full program to allow us to sort out small details. There may be starts and stops to finalize some details, but parents are welcome to come and watch.
Evening Christmas Concert – 6:00 pm
We are working out the details on a new format and will be ready to share soon. Grade 1s and 2s will be in the first part of the evening and the Grade 3s and 4s will be in the second half.
Wednesday, December 21 – Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
Christmas Concert – 6:15 pm
The pre-K concert will be in the Meeting Place at 6:15 and the Kindergarten concert will be at approximately 6:30 pm in the gym. The Kinder concert will not start until the Pre-K concert is done in order to allow families who have children in both groups the opportunity to see each concert. This format should allow the Pre-K group a more comfortable and less overwhelming experience.
Additional Concert Information:
Please see the images below for additional information. The first image applies to all concerts. The following images provide details that are unique to each grade level. We look forward to seeing everyone next week!
PLAYGROUND FUNDRAISING UPDATE
A couple of weeks ago we let you know that we were waiting to hear about some grant applications for our new Playground. We are excited to announce that we have received $50,000 from the Alberta Blue Cross Built Together Grant! What AMAZING news!! This gets us a few steps closer to being able to apply for matching grants. Thank you so much to this committee for their perseverance in this project. You are so appreciated!
