ASSEMBLY HIGHLIGHTS
Thank you to our special cohosts, Ellie and Oliver in 4A, for doing such a great job! We had a jam packed kindness themed assembly. Constable Lackie joined us as a special guest, we enjoyed a funny video, plus there was a Kindness Kahoot game!
Some of you may have been wondering what our assemblies look like in the virtual world. They are definitely a little different. You can watch a quick clip below of the start of our Assembly or click here for the entire Assembly.
We had many prizes to give away in our assembly. We completed our first 100 RAKs (Random Acts of Kindness) and drew 15 names to win some prizes. Our goal is to do 300 RAKs over the next couple of weeks.
We were able to do a draw for our Jump Rope for Heart participants and they all received a water bottle and a ball. Our 7 day Healthy Habit streak winner, who completed his entry online as part of Jump Rope for Heart, won a new water bottle.
Last, but not least, we received two Large Pop-It games to give away for winning the Town of Devon Winter Walk Photo contest. We drew from all of the classes in the school and gave away one game to two lucky classes. Mrs. Mullen’s 2B class and Mrs. Kaluza’s 1-2D class were the winners of those great games.
Congratulations to all of our prize winners! It certainly creates a lot of fun and excitement for our students.
PINK SHIRT DAY
Pink Shirt day was filled with wonderful Kindness activities all around the school. As usual there were some amazing pictures of our students. You can click on this LINK to see more photos!
There have been so many wonderful RAKs around the school this month and it is really beautiful to see all the effort of so many to be KIND.
COOKING UP A STORY
Thank you to all of the families who participated in Cooking Up a Story. We all had such a great time! Check out this link to see more photos of our event.
We would like to send out a big THANK YOU to our MHCB team led by Cherie Corcoran and to our school MHCB coach, known as Ms. Angela to our students, for bringing this event to RBES!
One of our School Council Chairs, Lorie Stelter, had this to share about the event:
Our School Council would like to thank the Mental Health Capacity Building Team and RBES Staff and Administration for the organization and hard work that went into the “Cooking Up a Story” evening. We had a wonderful time working with our families in the virtual company of our school community, all while listening to stories read by the children and staff. We have amazing readers at RBES! We were shocked at the amount and quality of food that was provided to each family for such a low cost and the recipe was simple and enjoyable. We hope that we are able to have future events like this and urge our school families to continue to join in on these special events. Thanks again!
