We were seeing double on Friday with so many students dressed to match their “twin”. Such a fun dress up day. You can see some additional photos by clicking on the link below. Also, some teachers shared additional photos in their communication.
AHS has a new area for educators and schools to support all aspects of health in schools. In this section of the AHS website, there is a document called, Beyond Food. It is a part of an information series that looks at action on school wellness. One portion of this document looks at suggestions for strategies to offer food-free alternatives as part of the journey in pursuing a healthy school culture. As many of you know, we are slowly adjusting our post pandemic practices and protocols with regards to food, safety, celebrations, mental health, and a number of other areas. There is much to consider and we are taking this opportunity to be thoughtful and intentional in moving our school forward in a fashion that is inclusive to all.
ASSEMBLY
Thank you to the assembly team for this month. They are leading us in O’ Canada and also help with some activities in our Friday assemblies.
We are continuing with our monthly theme of Good Manners. This has resulted in some interesting questions and conversation. The students were challenged to try to remember to say Thank You to whoever prepared supper for them this week. There are lots of extra kind phrases and pleases and thank yous that can be heard around our school. It is exciting to see the students trying extra hard to use their manners and be kind toward one another.

Our students love our random prize draws in assemblies! You can see this week’s lucky draw recipients below:
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2023-2024 school year.
Children may begin Kindergarten in a school within the Black Gold School Division in September if they are at least 4 years 8 months old as of August 31 of the respective school year.
We encourage families to register early as this helps us with our planning. Please note that programs and class preferences are subject to change based on enrollment, space and program viability.
