What can we say? This community comes together and always has!
It was heartwarming to see the extremely hard work of our School Council and Fundraising Committee’s work come to fruition with the installation of the park this week. What an amazing journey it has been. All week the school was abuzz with excitement as PlayQuest and Volunteers worked hard to construct the park. We hope to have the fences down before the end of the month and students out and enjoying this new park! Please stay tuned for an announcement about a Grand Opening Ceremony sometime in June! This will be a special event to pay tribute to the immense work of our volunteers, sponsors, and EVERYONE who contributed to fundraisers along the way.
The park should open by midweek next week. We have created a schedule that will allow for everyone to have a chance to get on the park throughout their day that we will keep in place for the next month. All 300 students at the same time would be a little too much!
Another community event we participated in this week was Tom’s Walk. It was a wonderful way to collaborate with our Riverview and John Maland school communities. The Grade 5/6 students from Riverview popped over and joined many classes as they walked, reflected, and connected. The annual Tom’s Walk for the community will take place on Sunday afternoon. We hope to see many of our families out and about.
Have a wonderful weekend!
