School wide Friday Assemblies have started. What an exciting day it was!

This past Friday we got to meet some special guests! We are really excited to partner with one of the local NAX hockey teams. The girls team will have a partner classroom and be a teammate to that class for the year. We will have a chance to do some special activities together. The students were all very excited to meet their NAX teammate. Some of our classes are even lucky enough to have two NAX players to buddy up with.
We are just getting started for our Friday assemblies and will have some different exciting opportunities for leadership for some of our grade 3 and 4 students. More to come on that soon!
Parents are always welcome to join us for Friday assemblies, but we ask that you give us a couple of weeks to get settled in our routine. Assemblies start at 8:45 am. We will share information in this update on what is happening and what to expect next!
ART CARD FUNDRAISER
The Art Project Fundraiser came in on Friday! On the card, you will see the deadline was Friday, November 18. Unfortunately, the courier misplaced our cards, so the company has extended our deadline to next Friday, November 25. If you have questions, please call the office at 780-987-3705.
RBES SPELL-A-THON UPDATE
Wow! Thank you RBES parents and community for supporting our students in the Spell-a-thon. Together we raised $10,002.00. This will go a long way to support the increased cost of software licenses, special art supplies, items for wellness days and initiatives, and the ongoing evergreening of school technology.
I would like to send out a Special Thank You to all of our sponsors: Devon Home Hardware, IGA, Tim Hortons, Independent Grocers, Dominos Pizza, Florida Pizza, and Dairy Queen. We could not have done this without your amazing support!
I would also like to send a BIG SHOUT OUT OF RECOGNITION AND THANKS to Mrs. Tewitz, Mrs. Forchuk, and Mrs. Delbridge for their long hours of planning and organizing to make this event happen! Also, THANK YOU RBES Staff for your supporting role in the Spell-a-thon! Without your extra time and encouragement, this event would not be so successful. It really takes a village sometimes and we are truly GRATEFUL for ours!

SKATING STARTS NOVEMBER 21
REMINDER: Skating starts on Monday for Grades 1-4! If we need to change the date due to inclement weather we will let you know as soon as possible. Each grade will have a half-hour time slot on the ice in which they will be participating in learn-to-skate activities and games which are appropriate for their ability level. HOT LUNCH PROGRAM
Our hot lunch program has started! Check your PowerSchool accounts to place an order. We have more information on our Hot Lunch page. The November order form will be up soon!
Would you like to be a Hot Lunch Volunteer?
We are looking for a couple of Hot Lunch volunteers to help sort orders on our Hot Lunch days. Please fill out our volunteer form if you are interested. We will be contacting those who have indicated interest in the next week.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT
We are working on preparing for in-person Christmas Concerts. Reminder: the dates for this and other RBES events can be found in our Google Calendar, which I have linked here for your convenience. You can also click on the calendar tab on this website.
We will have more information around dates, times, and other information in the next few weeks. For now please hold the date for: December 20 (Gr. 1-4) and December 21 (PK & K).
