    Let Learning Guide You!

We had a busy week full of fun but also full of learning. The fun all started with excitement leading up to Halloween. You might have noticed all the Minions and Gru around the school – our staff had fun with our themed costume. Students were also having lots of fun! Thank you to our parents for supporting at the parade!

On Wednesday, our staff was able to come together to engage in professional learning. The morning sessions were dedicated to division professional development which took both our teacher and support staff to locations across Black Gold School Division. In the afternoon we came together as an entire staff to share in learning. We begin many of our learning moments discussing “A-Ha” moments where staff have an opportunity to share something they have learned or discovered since our last meeting. We also celebrate each other with “Raptor Raves”. This is an opportunity for staff to acknowledge the good work that one another achieves. Ensuring that our staff is supporting one another makes us the best that we can be to support your children’s learning here at school. Our teaching staff also dove deeper into how we can support our students in being visible learners and developing strategies in which students can tap into deep-level thinking within mathematics. It was a wonderful afternoon of learning! Our week concluded today with a whole school assembly! We celebrated the learning of science with Professor WOW! Be sure to ask your kiddo what he did today! If they need a reminder, here is a short video

We have one more full week before our “Fall Break” from November 13-17. Our School Council and Fundraising Society will come together at 6:00 on Monday. Please join us! New faces are always welcome! Finally, next Friday, November 10th, we invite you to join us for our Remembrance Day Ceremony at 10:45. Have a wonderful weekend!

    School Safety

Schools are one of the safest places in our communities. Nonetheless, an emergency can strike anywhere, and at any time. During an emergency, our first priority is
the safety of our students and staff. In order to provide an effective response to any school emergency Black Gold School Division, in partnership with the Hour Zero
protocols utilized by emergency response agencies throughout North America, has developed an Emergency Response Plan.

All staff is regularly trained on emergency protocols. Throughout the year, we conduct training and drills to rehearse emergency procedures and help better prepare students and staff for possible emergency situations. These exercises prepare students and staff to act quickly and help to minimize a child’s fear during a real emergency.

At Robina Baker, to ensure the safety of all students and staff, please ensure you are using the FRONT DOORS when visiting the school. Please check into the office when you arrive.
