Quick Update
- This week our Grade 4 leadership students were in full working order. We have groups participating in our morning announcements, student supervision at recess, hot lunch delivery, and promoting school events. This is an excellent way to show active citizenship within our school and have a student voice. Way to go Grade 4 Leadership students!
- Next week we will be beginning a breakfast program for students. We have a parent who has volunteered to come and pop some toast down for us between 8:20 and 8:35. Any student feeling a little hungry in the morning will be able to swing by our kitchen area before announcements and pick up a slice of bread with some jam. If you have any interest in volunteering to support this program please sign up here. No child will be turned away. If you have a child with an intolerance to gluten, but you wish for them to have the opportunity to participate, please email us at the school. We appreciate our parent volunteers and their involvement in the school.
- Halloween is fast approaching! We are excited to host a student parade. Our parent community is welcome to attend as well. The parade will take place at 9:00 on Tuesday, October 31. Each class will sit in the gym and have an opportunity to march around the gym. PK and Kinder students not attending school on that day are welcome with their parents to join the parade! One final reminder to keep costumes age-appropriate and without weapons as we have lots of littles in our school! Classroom teachers will determine what will best suit their classroom context when it comes to classroom parties.
- Our teachers are looking forward to discussing your child’s learning with you on October 26th. We will also be hosting a family games night that evening. At any point, feel free to pop into the gym and join in on some family games before heading home. The book fair will also be open!
Sincerely,
Mr. Coffin

Library Corner
Hello parents! My name is Mrs. Hagel, and I am so happy to be the new librarian at Robina Baker. I wanted to let everyone know that we will be running a Scholastic Book Fair from October 24th to 26th, and we will be open during parent/teacher interviews. Every dollar spent at our Book Fair goes towards putting new books in the hands of our students. I’m looking forward to seeing you there.
