It was a busy week after a long weekend this week! A couple of things to note from the week:

    • We have access at our school to the Mental Health Capacity Building Team. They work in multiple schools and support our school community. They do lots of great universal teaching, such as during our grade level assemblies on Friday as well as small group work. We appreciate them being here and have two events lined up for our families in the evenings. Next Wednesday, they will be once again set up for FAMILY GAMES in the gym during our Book Fair and Parent Teacher Interview evening! Stay tuned as well – we will be doing a family gingerbread/cookie decorating event in December!
    • The BOOK FAIR is next week! See the information below and consider supporting the book fair. Money raised goes directly back into our library!
    • COMMUNICATION IS KEY – Next week is a wonderful opportunity to touch base with your child’s teacher during parent-teacher interviews. We look forward to welcoming so many families in the building. Sign up here!
    • We have now completed two HOUR ZERO evacuation drills this year. Students have been diligent about going to their designated area and remaining quiet until the all-clear is given to return to the building. Find out more about HOUR ZERO here
    • We thank our Fundraising Society for organizing hot lunches for us! If you don’t already have an account, please do register for one and order through the account. This helps with their fundraising efforts. Our vendors are unable to accept orders directly at the restaurant to be included in the delivery to the school.
    • Finally, our School council is so excited to host a HALLOWEEN dance next Friday. Be sure to get your tickets and come out for this fun event!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Library Corner

    • Welcome back to the library! Students are allowed the following number of books:
    • Grades K and 1 – 1 book

Please return the books a week later when it is your student’s library day.

    • Overdue notices – Please do not be concerned if you receive an overdue notice.  These are just reminders and you will not be charged any late fees.  Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.   [email protected]
    • Students are still learning where to put returns and from time to time books inadvertently get on the shelf without being checked in. Please be patient as we work through this process, and again, if you would like me to look for a book you think you’ve returned, I am happy to do so!
