Quick Update
- It was lovely to see so much connection this week at the school!
- Our book fair ran all week. Mrs. Hagel was able to sell almost $6000 worth of books. This is amazing! Thank you to our families for supporting the Book Fair. This results in books directly back into our library!
- Our games night and interview night was a great success. Congratulations to the door prize winners who won some great prizes: Winnie (1C), Zack (2A), Corbin (1A), Lily (1A), and Sebastian (K2). We hope to have another Games Night soon.
- Next week is Halloween. Our community is invited to partake in a parade on Tuesday morning at 9:00. Remember to wear age-appropriate costumes not too scary for our little ones as well as no weapons!
- We’ve been having Grade 1/2 and 3/4 assemblies each week. Our focus has been on 7 Indigenous Teachings and how they relate to our school culture. Mr. Coffin and Mrs. Kirton value this 30-minute stretch with our students each week!
Wishing you a safe and wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Coffin

Costume Parade
We are excited to host our annual student parade. Our parent community is welcome to attend as well. The parade will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31. Each class will sit in the gym and have an opportunity to march around the gym. PK and Kinder students not attending school on that day are welcome with their parents to join the parade! One final reminder to keep costumes age-appropriate and without weapons as we have lots of littles in our school!
Classroom teachers will determine what will best suit their classroom context when it comes to classroom parties.

School Safety
Schools are one of the safest places in our communities. Nonetheless, an emergency can strike anywhere, and at any time. During an emergency, our first priority is
the safety of our students and staff. In order to provide an effective response to any school emergency Black Gold School Division, in partnership with the Hour Zero
protocols utilized by emergency response agencies throughout North America, has developed an Emergency Response Plan.
All staff is regularly trained on emergency protocols. Throughout the year, we conduct training and drills to rehearse emergency procedures and help better prepare students and staff for possible emergency situations. These exercises prepare students and staff to act quickly and help to minimize a child’s fear during a real emergency.
At Robina Baker, to ensure the safety of all students and staff, please ensure you are using the FRONT DOORS when visiting the school. Please check into the office when you arrive.
