As we head into the long weekend let’s take a minute to think about what we are thankful for!
- Parents: We are so grateful to all of our wonderful parents! Being a parent myself of young little ones, I know just how tricky it can be to get up and get out the door in the morning! As parents, we see you as partners in your child’s educational journey and are extremely grateful for your wonderful support of the school. Our School Council has exceptional humans who give up their time to make our community a better place. Currently, they are hard at work planning a wonderful family event – the Halloween Dance! They’ve even lined up an wonderful DJ who is going to allow us all to dance into the evening! Tickets for the dance are very reasonably priced and can be purchased through Hot Lunches. I encourage you to come on out and enjoy this family activity! We are thankful for our wonderful parents and caregivers!
- Staff: The staff at Robina Baker work extremely hard to ensure they provide the best educational experience for students. Teachers dive deeply into planning learning activities to ensure students are Visible Learners! Our Educational Assistants support teachers and students in carrying out plans and often have to think on their feet very quickly! Our secretaries are always joyful and ensure that anyone who comes to the office feels welcome and safe at RBES. Trudy, our exceptional Librarian, ensures that students are exposed to the most excellent literature and engages thoughtfully with students in her space. Our custodians keep things in tip-top shape. Finally, all the extra support provided through the division office such as our instructional coaches, SLPs, OTs, psychologists, and beyond always comes with a lens of supporting success. We are thankful to our staff and wish for them to have a restful weekend with their loved ones.
- Students: Our students are why we all show up every day. Their sense of humour, curiosity, and desire to learn to keep the school flowing in the most wonderful way possible. We are incredibly thankful that our students do such a great job following our group plans at school, asking wonderful questions, and inspiring us all to learn more ourselves each day. We are thankful for our students!
Wishing you all a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

Library Corner
- Welcome back to the library! Students are allowed the following number of books:
- Grades K and 1 – 1 book
- Grades 2 and 3 – 2 books
- Grade 4 – 3 books
Please return the books a week later when it is your student’s library day.
- Overdue notices – Please do not be concerned if you receive an overdue notice. These are just reminders and you will not be charged any late fees. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns. [email protected]
- Students are still learning where to put returns and from time to time books inadvertently get on the shelf without being checked in. Please be patient as we work through this process, and again, if you would like me to look for a book you think you’ve returned, I am happy to do so!
- Scholastic Book Fair – The moment you all have been waiting for is almost here!
- The Book Fair will be open October 22-24 all day, including during Parent Teacher Interviews. Please stop by and say hello and do some shopping!
- If any parents are able to help out at lunch recesses on one of those 3 days to help with crowd control, please contact me. It would be much appreciated!
- Please keep your eyes open for a Scholastic Book Fair flyer coming home soon! You can access information about our Book Fair here. Robina Book Fair
- Amazon Wishlist. We have a wishlist for the library! If you would like to buy one of these books for the library, please don’t forget to have Amazon send us a gift note with your name on it. I like to acknowledge the person who purchased the book. Thanks!
