Admin Corner
Well, we’ve made it through our first month of school. The leaves are falling and the sun has been shining.
Today was an important day at our school. It was Orange Shirt Day. It was a sea of orange during our assembly today. Students worked on hearts which we look forward to displaying using ribbons to our bus line fence. Students were encouraged to decorate hearts with any combination of images, colours, words, and so on, that the student feels to show support of reconciliation. Each unique heart will be displayed on our fence shortly. Thank you to Trustee Klaassen for joining us during our assembly.
Saturday is National Day for Truth and Reconcilation. We encourage you to seek out an opportunity to reflect. The Town of Devon has an event this weekend where you can come together with your family. If you are looking for a child-friendly guide to the Calls to Action, Spirit Bear’s Guide to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action is a great place to begin.
Wishing you all a heartfelt and wonderful weekend.

The School Council and Fundraising Committee will be meeting for the first time on Monday, October 2nd at 6:00 PM. We’d love to have you there!
Heart Garden
To honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, every student made a heart for our Heart Garden we will be “planting” soon. Heart gardens honour residential
school survivors and their families, as well as the legacy of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. Each heart represents the memory of a child lost to the residential school system, and the act of planting represents that individual’s commitment to finding their place in reconciliation.
