As part of our Physical Education program, the Grade 1 – 4 classes will once again be participating in swimming lessons at the Devon Community Pool. These lessons will be from May 27-30. Please note: these dates may change due to extenuating circumstances, like pool maintenance, but not because of weather. The only time swimming is postponed due to weather is when thunder and lightning or hail are present. If it is cold or raining, students will still be participating in lessons.

Free Swimming

All Robina Baker students will have an opportunity for a free fun swim on the following dates:

EIPK FREE SWIM (Optional – Parents Must Attend)
Friday, June 21st 2:00 – 3:00

Kinder FREE SWIM
Monday – Thursday May 27-30 12:25 – 1:00

GRADE 1 – 4 FREE SWIM
Friday, May 31 8:30 – 2:30
Monday, June 24: 8:30 – 1:15

Please note: these dates may change due to extenuating circumstances; eg. pool maintenance or staff
unavailability, but not likely due to weather. The only time swimming is postponed based on weather
conditions is when thunder and lightning or hail are present. If it is cold or raining, students are still able to
Swim.

Parent Volunteers:
The pool requires a different ratio of parent volunteers based on the age of the students.
Pre-Kindergarten: One to one. Parents must be in the pool with their child.
Kindergarten: One adult per every 3 students is required.
Grade 1- 4: One adult per 3 students under age 8 is required; One adult per 6 students is required for children over the age of 8 years.

Please reach out to your child’s teacher and/or indicate on the permission form if you are interested and
able to volunteer. If there are insufficient volunteers, the FREE SWIM time will be canceled for that
particular group. You can complete a Volunteer Form also on PowerSchool if you can volunteer.
